Your Pain Was Born Here is a journey across 5 European countries exploring the Black diaspora outside of the American identity, woven into a love letter to the greater community and the discovery of self. We follow Wilhelmina through England, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, and Italy as she explores the intersections of Black identity including womanhood, LGBTQ, politics, and social relations.

We are raising $60,000 for post-production costs, team, and impact, as well as a platform for the documentary to live.

Your support will not only help bring this film to life but will also contribute to creating an educational curriculum around the topics covered, hosting community screenings & discussions across the country.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Depends on a few factors like if you received a reward in exchange for the donation and the value of your donation above that rewards cost, etc. You may contact the nonprofit you donated to directly to receive information on whether or not your donation is tax deductible. Nonetheless, the emailed receipts you will receive for your donation is the documentation you need to make it tax deductible.
